Glass Museum - Murano

Venice, Italy

Completed in 2001

1st and 2nd lots

Renovation with extension

The intervention consisted in renovating, with expansion for a better functional, distributive and expositive reorganization of the new museum complex, to integrate the current Glass Museum. Particular attention was paid to the compliance with environmental quality requirements, accessibility to the disabled and security, and the provision of services and reorganization of the exhibition. The complex is composed of Palazzo Giustinian (monumental asset), some depots of the former Conterie and a building adjacent to the east side. An external service tower has been designed with a lift and a security staircase; supplying all the floors, it becomes the fulcrum also for the reorganization of the museum itinerary.
